Guess the comparative
Great activity to work with comparatives through speaking activity. Copy one sheet for each pair, and cut it in half. Students can’t see each other’s sheet. At first students work on their own and try to fill in the gaps with the appropriate comparative adjectives. Monitor to make sure they write logical guesses. Put students in pairs and Student B tells the first completed sentence. If A has the same on his card, he says “That’s right” If it’s not the same, A says “Try again!” and B guesses using more comparatives until he gets the right one. Then A reads his completed sentence.
As a follow up exercise ask students to turn their papers face down and tell the comparatives they remember.
