I am always amazed at how much discussion this activity generates. Students have to classify elements for a rewarding and satisfying job into 4 categories (essential, desirable, unimportant, and undesirable), and then discuss their choices in small groups. Please note that this exercise was NOT stolen from "The Standby Book." (I am the author of this exercise.)
