Who lives in house number...?? (worksheet 2)
This activity is suitable for revising basic knwoledge such as introducing another person, saying where he/she comes from, what he/she likes, how old etc..Students like it as it comprises all skills: reading, memorizing, writing, speaking and listening. It works as follows: You tell the students that in London there is a block with four different terraced houses and in each one there lives a different child. You than put them in pairs and tell them that on the wall they see two different sheets of paper (A and B) with information about the children. One student needs to copy all the sentences from sheet A and the other from sheet B. THey get up, go to the wall, read the sentence, go back to their desk and write them down. Once they have finished you can put a transperancy on the overhead projector and let them check their sentences on any mistakes. Than you hand them out the copy of the house and tell them to complete it with the information their got from their sheets A and B. They are supposed to talk to their partners and provide them their information as well as to ask teir partners for the information they have got. At the end the results are compared in class and need to be written on the blackboard.
As a further exercise that encourages speaking students can ask each other questions such as: Who lives in number 25? etc.
