** Vocabulary revision and brainstorming game # 3**
2 Pages, with detailed instructions For variations look at # 1 and 2. ---- This is the third worksheet in a series of 4. Look out for the others. Students play in groups around a table. The above cards name different categories in which they have to find as many words as possible. The first student turns over a card and everybody writes down as many words from this word field as come to their mind. After one or two minutes they all show their words. Every student crosses out the words that other students have written down as well and only “keeps” and gets one point for words that he was the only one to find. If they disagree on whether a word belongs to a category or not they have to discuss it in English, so you’ll make them talk as well as rake their heads for words. The person with the most points is the winner. I made two sets of cards so that the game can be played on different days or sets can be swapped. There are more categories to come. Categories will occasionally overlap each other, - which is all the better because words that come up twice will not be forgotten for a while. This is fun!
