Poetry discussion and creative writing
A two part class, starting with a discussion on Shel Silversteinīs poem Forgotten Language. This is followed by a translation activity where students are asked to translate a Rimbaud poem from the French - the point being that they donīt know French but have to be creative (wonīt work for many European students who may know a little). Its great to see what students come up with.
