Hurry Hippo Game (with about 100 wordstrips containg irregular verbs in their base and and past tense form, black and white version included)
Ideas for play:
The running hippo is at the start. Students will role a die and move around the board. Whenever a child lands on a hippo they must take a word strip (card) and say the word, spell it or use it in a sentence (or all three). Your students may go around the board once or keep going around and around until all the word strips are used. In this case you can change the questions on the board or ask the children to come up with new answers every time they land on a question. (You could encourage them to give silly answers as well.)
The 2 tables contain some of the most common irregular verbs in English in their base and past tense forms. Please cut up the cells into little word strips. Print the word strips just once for this game or use them separately for a memory or matching game as well.
Have fun!
P.S.
If you like this game you might also like my Dino Dash game or my Robot Race game. They have the same basic layout but the words, questions and images are different.
If you have trouble printing the cards or the gameboards please check your margins and try setting your computer to Borderless Printing before you begin to print again. There is another game coming.
