shopping game
The game is a shopping game. Cut out the blocks of dollars, candy and gifts and arrange them haphazardly on the board in a grid format (With the dollar, candy and present image facing the board so that the students do not see them) . Above each column, place a colour and on the left beside each row, place a picture of an object. In order for the learner to select a card, the will have to say, "I would like to buy a red pencil etc." The teacher will flip the card and produce either dollar card, candy card or present card. Divide the class into 2 groups. On the board, make columns A and B. Write $100 in each column. Students, turn by turn will say, "I would like to buy etc." If they select a dollar card, minus the amount from the $100. If they select a gift card, add $10 and if they select a candy card, add $20 and reward the student who spoke with candy. The aim is to see who wins the most dollars.
