I used this exercise to introduce new vocabulary dealing with sea creatures. Kids love extreme animals. They know more than we think they do and they just love learning new facts about them. In this exercise they have to match the descriptions to the pictures on the right. Riddles are great because they have the element of surprise and children learn lots of vocabulary and structures without realizing. After this activity I ask them to write a similar riddle about their favourite sea creature. They can look for imformation in the internet or in encyclopedias. I hope you find it useful!
