The British Isles
This work sheet I find good to use with students who are going or would like to go to the British Isles to study. I first explain the basic compass directions on the board: north, south etc. Then change them into adjectives showing them the pronunciation: northern, southern etc. I then explain to them about the countries which make up the British Isles, U.K. and Great Britain. Next I give them this work sheet to fill out. Then I go through the answers which can usually spark off some good conversations. I also use a map of the students home country allowing them to make up their own sentences using the same sentence structure.
