Questions with auxilary verbs
Aim(s):
Main Aim(s) (State the structure, function, vocabulary, context, etc)
• To review questions with auxiliary verbs;
Sub-Aim(s) (State the structure, function, vocabulary, context, etc)
• To warm SS up by making them asking questions with specific purposes;
• To review the position of the words in questions with auxiliary verbs in different tenses.
Personal Aims (you could refer to those areas highlighted in feedback)
• To create a nice rapport among the whole group ( T. , SS)
• To make the SS feel comfortable with the teacher.
Materials:
• Slips of papers with affirmative sentences;
• Poster with the questions;
• Song CD;
• Slips of papers with prompts.
Assumptions: (Refer to what sts already know/can do/need)
• SS are supposed to know the verb tenses ( simple past, simple present, present continuous, present perfect simple, present perfect continuous,);
• SS should know the meaning of the question words.
• SS should know how to ask simple or wh-questions.
Anticipated Problems: (Refer in particular to problems sts will have with the target language/skills, etc)
• SS might get confused about the question formation with the verb to be and have got.
Solutions:
• Display the sentences on the board and elicit/explain the order of the words in questions. Emphasize it with the verb to be and have got and the auxiliary used in other sentences.
