Homonyms
Used to give students a starting point of homonyms. I got students to pick one out of a hat and then they had to make their own flashcards. They were required to write the two homonyms on two separate cards and then a picture or sentence on another that matched the definition e.g. one card "two" - matching card a drawing of 2, another card with "to" written on it - matching card with a sentence such as "I am going __ the park"...
the flashcards were used for various games such as memory, go fish and made them think about the correct meanings. Very effective!
