Conversation: ALL ABOUT ME! First Class Questionnaire
I know questionnaires for a first class are totally unoriginal, very passée but I always find that they work a treat. Really encourage your students to converse rather than just give quick answers. Tip one: get them to write the answers first (can be in note form) but then get them to ask them orally. So, when the class is finished you can borrow them, photocopy them and refer back to them, especially useful when you´re trying to remember a students´ particular interests, or favourite discussion topics. Tip two: fast finishers - get them to add some more questions.
