Love Story (by Taylor Swift)
My Chinese students wanted to learn a song and so I chose Love Story by Taylor Swift. It is a simple song and it loosely discusses Romeo and Juliet, a story they are all familiar with. I created a vocabulary list from the lyrics and scrambled it up and the students must fill in the blanks. I wrote in the Chinese translation but any language will do. They love listening to the song which in and of itself leads to a lot of great conversation about exciting romance! Scarlett Letter is also an intriguing topic. You might also want to go over expressions like "Little did I know," "All thatīs left to do," and "You are everything to me," etc. Enjoy!
