Give the handout to all your students. This leaflet has some questions to answer for themselves and a place to write a small paragraph about their summer. Tell them that when finished you will collect their sheets and keep them until the end of the year when they will take them back and see if they still agree with what they have written when we started our lessons. What you could also do at the end of the year is to have your students correct the paragraph they had written about their summer. This way your students will be able to see the progress they’ve made through the year. (Time capsule 2 to be used in your last lesson)
