The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Halloween Lesson)
This is one of my favorite Halloween Stories; my students have so much fun learning about this very spooky tale!It was written by Washington Irving in 1820 and is considered to be a classic piece of American literature, Disney made the cartoon version of this way back in 1949. I have included a plot summary which may be used by the students to introduce them to the basic outline of the story. After reading the summary they can watch the movie! here are the links:

I have also included a small quiz to test comprehension and some of the lyrics to the songs which appear in the cartoon so your students can sing along! Finally, I have included the original story by Washington Irving. I hope your students have as much fun with this as we did!
