Breakfast with Eric & Ernie.
This is a really fun lesson which focuses on a number of skills. The main topic is breakfast and the lead-in could be asking students what they normally have for breakfast. Use flashcards and ´realia´ to elicit the vocabulary before pre-teaching.Students then watch the Eric & Ernie Breakfast Sketch on YouTube before doing the sequencing activity, followed by a gap-fill exercise. This then leads into an activity on the Past Simple. I will also try to send a matching activity once I´ve reduced it! For this lesson, I usually bring in some of the breakfast items and ask students to demonstrate ´cutting a grapefruit in half´ and ´tossing a pancake´ etc! It´s very kinaesthetic!
