Christmas Castle Game with 40 Riddle Cards to Cut Out
Ideas for play:
Here is my Christmas Castle board game. You will need a die and tokens to play. I have provided about 40 cards for you. Each card contains a riddle or a sentence that needs to be completed.
You will notice that I have drawn almost every element in this game except for the elves, the rabbit, the Christmas tree, the holly berries and the silhouette of Santa and his reindeer. But did you know that the door handles were made with the letter J or that the bows on the wreaths include a couple of hearts? I loved making the little Christmas lights. Those were made by distorting a period (the punctuation mark) in Word Art. Actually, those are the same shapes that I used for my Up, Up and Away game.
Children must help the elves retrieve Santa’s special “Nice List”. Children start on the bottom left hand corner and then move across the bricks to make their way up to where the list is. Every time a student rolls a die they must pick up a card. They must read the card and answer the riddle or complete the sentence orally. They must use vocabulary related to Christmas. I have provided an answer key in case you need it.
If you need more items related to Christmas please check out my other work. I have a set of little Christmas flashcards, reindeer preposition cards, and a Christmas Fun Game. For winter try my Winter Fun game and my Snow Fort game. Some of my riddles were taken from here:http://www.crayola.com/free-coloring-pages/print/christmas-crossword-coloring-page/
