Emotional Situations Speaking Prompts
I found this activity from a Peace Corps Volunteer. I formatted it for easy printing and added my own situations to this activity.
Students are in groups, with one envelope full of speaking prompts between them. The prompts are divided by "emotion," which serves as the first part of the speaking task. Students take one piece of paper, ask the person to their left the question, the person answers it in 1-2 complete sentences (NOT JUST YES/NO), then they take a paper and ask the next, etc.
This serves two purposes: conversation, as well as practicing conditionals.
I recommend reading through each slip to make sure the content and vocab are appropraite for your group. I wouldnīt recommend giving the "do you cry when" to younger students, and instead sticking to the funnier ones, hence why I created the "Would you get grossed out if..." prompt.
Example:
Emotion=happiness
"Do you laugh when..."
...someone falls?
...someone tells a joke you donīt understand?
Emotion=disgust
"Would you get grossed out if..."
...you saw a dead worm on the sidewalk?
...someone shook your hand after sneezing?
