Listening Pyramid
-Pronunciation/Listening practice.
The objective is for both the speaker and listener to arrive at the same number underneath the word on the bottom row.
1 copy per student.
SS work in pairs. One student reads words in a diagonal chain until they reach the last row and stop. Their partner must listen as they read until they reach the last row and stop. The student will decide how long to make the chain.
Ex-
Student A reads:
litter death cows nose cause news- woman excited house exited hose exited house rise . what number is it?
Student B reads the number under the last word (the correct answer is 6)
SS repeat a few times in pairs, then in small groups (as the teacher listens), then as a whole class (one student reads, all others listen).
-demonstrate first with the whole class as listeners.
