Illustrated timeline for the verb ´maintain´ (prepared for CELTA skills lesson)
This is an illustrated timeline that I prepared to give a context for the verb ´maintain´ and to check for understanding. I used it in my CELTA skills assignment lesson, which I´ve uploaded to this site. I asked the students a concept question, ´has he kept his weight the same?´. I had thought that the students would have difficulty with this word, but that wasn´t the case. They were all Spanish speakers, so they probably could see the similarity with the Spanish verb ´mantener´, which has the same meaning. It was useful in that it confirmed that they had understood the meaning of the verb. I printed it on a transparency.
