Euroschool Song Contest
This was probably the silliest "cool idea" iīve ever had to put into practise with my current classes at primary level. They love music so considering a way to revise cardinal numbers from 1 to 10 and also to revive the name of some countries they had already learnt I felt "why not bring the eurovision song contest into the classroom?". They selected the ten songs on the chart, in pairs they represented a song and consequently the country to which the song was given and then they would give their points from 1 to 8 to all the songs. The final one would be given 10 points (being then the best). They could not give any points to their own song/country. And while giving their votes they had to express them in English of course (e.g "United Kingdom two points") Of course Canada, USA and Australia arenīt european countries but for once letīs forget Geography and travel into these kidīs world of joy and fun. They loved it! I hope you do too!
