Lonely Hearts
This worksheet serves as a simple reading exercise that introduces some personality and appearance adectives through a Lonely Hearts column. It is aimed at older students or adults. It can be introduced by eliciting different ways of meeting new people for relationships. It can be followed up by 1) speed dating using their adverts as a basis, and writing down who the students would like to meet up with 2) comparing with each other and speculating on the best matches. A further follow-up activity could be to draw a picture of the perfect partner and making a profile/Facebook summary to describe their appearance and personality.
