Three little birds lyrics cloze
This song was perfect for my extra elementary school kids because it is so repetitive. I know that my middle school students donīt like reggae, so I used the acoustic cover that Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco did in 2009 instead of the original Bob Marley. The kids were singing this song for the next couple of days after we did this assignment! They loved it because it is a full song, but it is also easy because the versus and chorus are repeated over and over again. For one class I had five minutes of extra time so I showed them the "Nine in the Afternoon" music video because it is by the same band. The kids ate it up! In the other classes I had no time issues.
Here I have provided the lyrics cloze, and also some comprehension questions for after (the questions can also serve as a wordbank for the cloze for lower level students.)
