Burns & Allen - Willie’s Accident
George Burns and Gracie Allen were one of the greatest comedy teams ever, popular on radio, on TV, and in movies. Here are 3 worksheets. In 1 students work in pairs to try to match Gracie’s crazy responses to George’s remarks. (This is nearly impossible, but is a good introduction to a difficult listening exercise.) The other 2 are listening worksheets for different levels. Students can also read the dialogue in pairs.

There is another version of this routine in an episode of "The Lucy Show" ("Lucy and George Burns"). As great as Lucille Ball was, she was no match for Gracie in this sketch!
George Burns and Gracie Allen are one of the best examples of the "straight man-funny man" technique so common in comedy duos.
