Reported speech cards - class activity
Instructions also in the document (page 2)
everything can be edited - for example one of the cards mentions mam tom, a traditional Vietnamese sauce: I don´t think students from outside of Vietnam would know that... Well I hope not anyway, because it´s terrible :) :) :)
Give a card to each student: each will read their statement out loud. The students can take short notes while their classmates are reading, that’s up to you. After the round is done, shout someone’s name and the first student who is able to report what this person said gets a point.
You can also forbid note taking and assign one point for remembering the topic from what the person said, and two points if the reported speech is grammatically correct.
For example, if John said “My favourite hobby is reading”, when you shout “John!!”, Mary gets a point if she is first to say “ he said he loves reading” and two points for saying “John said that his favourite hobby is/was reading”
Thanks! :)
