Ways to Turn Men Down 2 worksheet

Here is a fun exercise (revised without the key, which was said to violate site rules) involving common pick-up lines that men use to chat up/hit on women. First elicit some common icebreakers or pick-up lines guys use to speak to young ladies they are interested in. Then have the students work individually or in pairs to match the pick-up lines with responses. Explain any vocabulary requested. After everyone has finished, have the girls come sit in front of the class (or sit on one side of the class if it’s a large class). The boys take turns to "hit on/chat up" one of the girls, who then has to give the correct response. (Imitate a game show buzzer if the response is not correct.)
