Dear Ann Landers/Dear Abby
Here are some letters to American agony aunts (and twin sisters), Ann Landers and Abigail van Buren. Distribute a "Problem" card and an "Advice" card randomly to each student, who study the cards before they are taken back by the teacher. The students have to circulate around the classroom and summarize "their" problem to another student, who then has to give some advice. If the advice on their "Advice" card is appropriate, then they just have to summarize it. If not, they have to improvise and give the most appropriate advice they can think of.
After speaking to 57 students, the students take their seats and report to the class which advice was the best for their particular problem.
