While reading
Ss read the chant on worksheets. They have to circle all the animals’ name they can recognize. The chant is simple but many words may be unknown to Ss.
T checks this activity reading the chant to Ss. In this phase, students reflect on what they have read. The teacher asks comprehension questions to clarify meanings and evaluate their understanding.
Post-reading
T distributes photocopies to Ss.
They have to match pictures of all the animals of the chant with their names and cries/habits.
T may ask Ss to write the corresponding Italian cries/habits to clear the real meaning of the chant.
If necessary, T helps Ss in this task.
