Piece of Me Lyric Worksheet
This is a worksheet with the lyrics to Britney Spearsī "Piece of Me," with some lyrics missing, to be filled in by students as they watch and listen. It has text boxes that explain difficult or slang words and idiomatic phrases.
I used this in a lesson unit on conditionals. We watched the video for Britney Spearsī "Piece of Me," where she talks about how difficult it is to be famous. We went over the slang and idioms she uses in the song, and students listened and filled in the missing lyrics. Then we had a class discussion about whether it is better to live a normal life or to be famous ("if people were taking your picture all the time, would you still want to be famous?"). The whole thing took about a half hour, and I used it after reviewing our "would you rather" lesson from the previous day (and Ss used "would you rather" vocabulary during the class discussion).
