"Ebony & Ivory" song (9th grade topic Racism and Tolerance)
A song my 9th grade students listened to close the topic Racism and Tolerance. First they viewed the video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZtiJN6yiik) and discussed the meaning of the song and the video itself (colours, atmosphere, etc). Then they listened to the song again and completed the lyrics in the worksheet. As homework, I asked them to write an essay on one of three topics (ways to promote racial and cultural tolerance; special festivals celebrated by foreign students in their homeland; or a review/comment on the song).
