Great warm-up for a Valentines lesson. It is useful to study how names differ in English (in my case, from Japanese). Students "know" the couples, but are not used to seeing them in English. They also need to follow the instructions, so it helps their listening skills as well. You can also use this as a speaking activity: Cut out enough hearts so that each student gets one (making sure you have enough couples, of course). Students ask other students "Are you ~?" as they try to find their mate.
