Macbeth: Put the Act I events in chronological order/famous lines
Students are asked to put these events from Act I in chronological order. But by copying the last page of this document onto the back side of every events card before you cut them up, you can also require students to write down an important line from each event. Then I ask students to translate the Shakespearean line into their own words. I also teach students about subtext (what a character is really thinking) and ask them to give an example of subtext for the Shakespearean line as well.
