Do you want to play ?
Following a vocabulary lesson based on free time activities, I have used this partner activity drill to get students asking " "Do you want to play____________(sport/game)?"
Materials: markers for each student and 1 coin for every two students, 1 work sheet for every two students. I like playing with one sheet between 2 students to give them more opportunity to speak. When they are finished one game they can change partners. The teacher can go around and listen for errors and help students with pronunciation. This activity is usually good for 2 to 3 rounds.
The students toss the coin to move - heads - 2 squares and tails-1 square. When they land on a square, they must use the sport or game in the square with the question "Do you want to play__________?" They should practice positive and negative answers and not just "yes" or "no" (or they lose the turn). The first one to the finish gets to move to another desk when changing partners.
