St.Patrick´s Day Preposition Matching Cards (with Backing Cards and Letter Writing Activity)
This file contains 18 preposition cards (with 9 images), 6 backing cards and a writing activity.
Use these cards for a simple matching or memory game. Use the cards together or separately. Find, buy or make a small doll and encourage young students to place the doll in certain places in your classroom and then use the correct prepositions to explain where the doll is located.
You may prefer to edit some sentences to make use of other words like near, against, among or along side.
On the last page you will find a letter writing activity. Students can write a letter to a friend or a loved one starting with a sentence like, “Dear Mom, I am lucky to have you because….” Students can then give the letter as a gift to someone. The left side of that page includes a bookmark that the child can also sign and date on the back (the blank side). Whoever receives the letter as a gift can cut off the bookmark as a souvenir. Likewise, teachers with small classes may choose to write a short note to each of their students and say why they feel “lucky” to have those children as students. Get creative with it. If you find any other ideas on how to use these cards or the letter just let me know.
Have fun!
P.S.
I also have a St. Patrick’s Fun Game and St. Patrick’s Day memory cards that you may like as well.
