These three activities go together and they test the students of the most common verb tenses in affirmative ,negative and interrogative.The examples of the verbs given are very simple since the main objective is to know the different tenses and the use of the correspondent auxiliars in each case.According to my experience, this activity helps to clarify some doubts about verbs when they see them all together.
