Parts of Speech Raffle Tickets (40 tickets in all)
This file contains a total of 40 Parts of Speech Raffle Tickets.
Print pages 1-4 and cut out each ticket. (Do not cut the dotted lines.) Give each student a ticket and remove the ticket stub or bottom portion of each ticket. Put all the stubs in a container. (You can use a jar, bowl, bag or hat etc.)
Stand at the front of the room and draw tickets stubs one by one. When you draw out a stub read out the ticket number, the part of speech and the word or words in the box on each stub. Students may read out the complete sentence on their ticket if they wish, then they must give an appropriate answer. Keep going until all students have had a turn. (If you want each student to have only 1 turn each then you must lay the stubs aside as they are used.)
This game can also be used to put students into groups. Once they answer a question they may go to their new group (i.e. the Verb Group, the Noun Group, The Pronoun Group etc.). You may also ask your students to hold on to their tickets and whoever gets their number drawn can win a prize like an eraser, a notebook or a no-homework pass (provided they have answered the question on their ticket correctly). You can get creative with this game. It is fully editable. I hope you enjoy it.
Tickets and their stubs can be re-used only if you are careful not to lose any of the pieces. Should you need more than 40 tickets, you must make a second set of tickets and change the numbers on each ticket or simply print another set of tickets and just add a number or letter to each ticket by hand. Be careful if you do this, as each ticket has 2 numbers on it. If you miss changing a number there may be some confusion during your game.
The last page has a list of interjections should you need them.
For any further questions please dont hesitate to ask.
