the watch
Procedure: 1
- Prepare copies of a watch without the timer for your students. The size of the watch can be a half of a page.
- Explain your students that from one to five there are going to have appointments. In each hour, they will have a student’s name. Example: At one, they will have an appointment with Maria, at two with Juan and so on.
- Emphasize that they just need to have the appointments from one to five.
- Set up the following rule: Everyone needs to stand up and they do not have to write their classmates’ names who are at front and the back of them.
- Now, ask the students to stand up and do the activity.
Procedure: 2
- The teacher has to have questions in each hour. Those questions can be related to a reading text that they can work on.
- Once your students have written down their classmates’ names on their watch, tell them to meet at one with the person they have made the appointment and ask them to discuss the question you have created. Repeat this step with different questions until hour number five.
