Mad libs / Cindrella
This is a fun game, I use such a game at the beginning of the class. It would be suitable to use it as a warm-up activity to a class you study literature or narrative writing.
Directions:
You have a text taken from a famous story. Ask your students to give you words to complete the story. You should for example start by telling them to give you any noun, any adjective. Write the words given on the board. Then let them read the original story first. After that show the students the same story, but with some blanks. Now tell them to use the words elicited at the begining to fill the spaces.The result would be a very funny version of the story. It is really enjoyable.
