iPad from Two Angles
The release of Apple’s iPad was a big news event in the United States last weekend. Here students first predict and then discuss the probability of their classmates getting an iPad. Then they all read the first or second half of the iPad review from "The New York Times" and summarize it for a partner. (Encourage discussion.) The website where the article comes from has a nice video of a global town meeting which shows the iPad being used. This can be followed up with "The Wall Street Journal" video review from the BBC at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/world_news_america/8601367.stm>.
