Legalize Drunk Driving?
This is a lexically-focused set of materials based on the article "Legalize Drunk Driving" by Lew Rockwell and available free at http://www.lewrockwell.com/rockwell/drunkdriving.html.
It can be used with any size class, provided that students are at least at an upper-intermediate level. It includes an opening hour of discussion, followed by reading and a set of language activities based on the text. I love these materials because they are not only linguistically challenging, but intellectually as well, due to the highly unusual perspective of the article on its subject. Teachers unfamiliar with the lexical approach (whereby the focus is on whole piece of language -- collocations, fixed and semi-fixed phrases, whole frames, etc.) will probably find the teaching challenging as well.
