Following Instructions
This activity may be used as an ice breaker to a lesson on instructions. Students are given a time limit for the activity and have to race to finish it first. Many students are bound to complete the entire worksheet of fun and silly activities. The student who realy follows the instructions would have realized (if he first read thoroughly as stated by instruction 1) that he did not have to do anything at all to complete the activity. This highlights the importance of reading instructions carefully. For lower level students, it also acts as a vocabulary learning tool and as an introduction to what makes good instructions (i.e. clear, short, easy sentences). Let them decide for themselves if these instructions were good or bad.
