THIS WRTING SAMPLE AND FOLLOW UP TASKS WERE VERY USEFUL TO ME WHEN TEACHING HOW TO WRITE COMPARATIVE PIECES TO 4TH GRADERS AT A BILINGUAL SCHOOL.
IT WAS HARD TO INTRODUCE SPECIFIC VOCABULARY TO DO THIS TYPE OF WRTING TASK AT FIRST, BUT ONCE KIDS LEARNT THE TERMINOLOGY THEIR WORK TURNED OUT TO BE EXTREMELY ACCURATE AS REGARDS LANGUAGE & WRITING PER SE :-)
THE CHARACTERS FROM THE EXERCISES ARE TAKEN FROM SCOTT FORESMANīS READING STREET SERIES. YOU CAN ACTUALLY CHANGE EVERYTHING WHICH NEEDS TO BE VARIED GIVEN THE CHARACTERS YOU ARE READING ABOUT IN CLASS.
I DO HOPE THESE ACTIVITIES ARE AS EFFECTIVE AND CHALLENGING AS THEY WERE TO MY STUDENTS AND ME. :-)
