Effective Listening Story
Discuss effective listening skills. Skills could include giving eye contact, asking questions, looking at the person, nodding your head, turning towards the person, leaning towards the person, etc. After going over skills, state you are going to practice effective listening. Read the story aloud. Then pass out the questions on a separate piece of paper without the story. Ask them to complete the questions. See who was able to listen effectively and answer the most questions. Can expand and add more questions for older children.
