Exercise and learn to follow directions and to write instructions
Use elastic exercise bands to teach the imperative, to write instructions, and to follow directions. Oh, and, to exercise, too. The exercise bands are available in most sports stores. The idea is that you demonstrate the exercise. "Stretch the bands and bend your elbows." You repeat the exact directions. Then you tell a student how to do the exercise. Then a student tells another. Scramble the directions that have been written on a piece of paper. Students must put the directions in the correct order. Finally, students can create their own exercises and write the instructions.
