Here Is the Door!
Procedure
1. The teacher asks the students to stand in a circle and hold each other’s hands. There is a volunteer who will stand in the centre of the circle. Before that, s(h)e is asked to spend a couple of minutes outside the classroom.
2. While being alone, the class decides where the “door” will be. It means two students standing next to each other.
3. The volunteer is called back and his task is to find out where the door is and get out the circle through the door. The door people can help him by suggesting, demonstrating their being the door (looking in an inviting, nice way; winking; smiling etc.). The faces of the others must suggest rejection. Nobody is allowed to talk. The volunteer person can ask if he is sure that he has found the door. “Here is the door!” – he can say, and if he is right, he is allowed to go out the circle. He must look for the door until his choice is right.
4. The teacher calls for another volunteer and the game begins again in a similar way.
