Birth Defects Powerpoint Presentation
I have the students choose a birth defect and do a powerpoint presentation about it for the class. We spend 2-3 days in the computer lab creating their powerpoints, and another 2 days in class presenting. I have attached the instruction sheet, list of birth defects, and scoresheet that I use.
Feel free to edit as necessary. The students seem to enjoy this assignment.
I hear many comments (usually surprise at what they are finding) from them as they gather information and pictures for their powerpoints. I think it is a much better learning experience for them than if they just read the information from a text, and it is definitely hands-on.
