Lord of the Flies Chap. 1-2: Vocabulary and Imagery of War
This worksheet leads students to understand that the boys in Lord of the Flies are recreating war on the island that they are stranded on. The boys need to use the resources of the land to survive, but they are destroying them at the beginning of the novel. Students are asked to draw two pictures, one of a "peaceful" landscape as described in the novel, and one of a "violent" landscape as described in the novel. Students will be given the tropical objects that must be included and must label the objects with their name and an appropriate adjective (they can choose from a list).
