A/An Some/Any Much/Many ESL PingPong
Prep Work: I made this for my class of 32, you´ll have to adapt it slightly if your class is bigger or smaller. Give the students page one to work with. Laminate pages 2 & 3 and cut into strips.
How to play: Divide the class in 1/2. One half is team PING the other is team PONG. Give each student a laminated strip with a sentence on it. (Team PING should get strips from page two and team PONG should get strips from page three--this way no one on the same team has the same sentence, but students from opposite teams will compete.) The teacher should keep score on the board.
The students must listen carefully. The teacher will read one of the 16 sentences at random. The students that have that sentence should yell out their team name as quickly as possible. The first team to yell their team name receives a point. The team that lost the point for the listening portion has the opportunity to regain a point if they can correctly change the sentence on the worksheet for the corresponding number.
Maybe this is confusing. Here is an example of how it should go:
Teacher: "How much cake do you want?:
Team Ping S: "PING!"
Team Pong S: "PONG!"
Teacher: "Team Ping, you were first. What´s your number?"
TPing S: "Seven."
Teacher: "Good you get a point! Team Pong, can you correctly change number 7 on the worksheet? If so, you´ll get a point."
TPong S:"How many pieces of cake do you want?"
Teacher: Correct! Team Pong also gets a point!
The kids love it! Hope it works in your classroom, PM me if you have any questions.
