DAVID CAMERON FIRST SPEECH AS PRIME MINISTER EXERCISE
This a a worksheet I did for my students the day after David Cameron gave his first speech as Prime Minister. Itīs a transcript of the speech with gaps the students have to fill. It combines OPEN CLOZE, MULTIPLE CHOICE and LISTENING. First, play the speech on the classroom screen (youtube link provided) without giving the students the worksheet. Afterwards, ask for the contextualization questions in a whole class discussion in class. Next, give them the worksheet for them to fill in as many gaps as they can. Finally, play the speech again for them to fill in the listening gaps. Whoever that gets most gaps filled correctly wins the prize: a visit to 10 Downing and a personal interview with Cameron. Ha ha!! It was a great lesson combinint speaking - reading - grammar exercises, I hope you enjoy it as much as my students did. ANSWER KEY PROVIDED.
