Quiz: the USA (end-of-year activity)
A quiz I do at the end of the year. Pupils have to write answers in English (French is allowed, but they have more points for English answers). They work in groups of 3 or 4. When we correct,I ask them to give me the name of their group and they have One point for each good answer.
Here is an other activity I do a few days after: The pupils make groups of 3 or 4. They invent a group name (eg: "the warriors") and a funny "buzzer" sound (eg: ding ding / yipee / tok tok/ bip bip...). I ask them a question about the quiz (eg: What is the color of school buses?). They shout their "buzzer" and answer. They have the point if the answer is grammatically correct. If not, an other team can answer.
